Sale Mode vs Refund Mode

The mode switch near the top of the register controls how the next item is added.

• Sale: Adds positive quantities and charges the customer.
• Refund: Adds negative quantities and prepares money to be returned.

Use Sale for normal transactions. Use Refund only after confirming the return and your store policy. After a refund item is added, the register can return to Sale mode automatically. If several items must be refunded directly, confirm Refund mode again before adding each additional item.

For the safest return tied to purchase history, start from the original receipt whenever possible.
