How to Add or Remove Tax from One Item

1. Find the item in the cart.
2. Open its edit or tax control.
3. Turn tax off or on for that line.
4. Confirm the item and receipt tax totals changed as expected.

Only change tax when the sale qualifies under your store’s tax rules. A line-level change affects that item, while the Tax Amount control at the bottom affects the whole receipt.
