Security & Employee Controls overview

Security & Employee Controls protect unattended registers, identify the employee responsible for checkout, and restrict sensitive actions.
Controls in this book
Session Security: Log out after completed transactions or after a period of inactivity.
Employee Verification: Require an employee on every sale and optionally verify that employee’s password or PIN.
Transaction Protection: Configure supported Auto Shop transaction locks and receipt counts.
Cash Drawer Access: Require a locally configured PIN for the manual Open Drawer action.
Before changing security settings
Choose controls that match the way employees share registers. Stronger verification improves accountability but may add steps to checkout, so train staff before enabling new requirements.
Some options depend on enabled modules, and device-level controls must be configured separately on each applicable register.
