# How to show or hide discounts and quantity controls

Use these controls to simplify checkout and limit the changes employees can make from the register.

## Hide register discounts

1. Open **Settings > Register**.
2. Enable **Hide Discount** to remove discount controls from the cart and item-editing flow.
3. Save Register settings.

Use this when discounts require a separate approval process or should not be available during normal checkout.

## Hide quantity controls

1. Enable **Hide Quantity**.
2. Save Register settings.

This prevents employees from adjusting an item’s quantity at the register. It is useful when items are normally scanned or entered one at a time.

These settings change the visible register controls. They do not replace employee permissions or inventory rules.
