How to Search for a Product by Name

1. Confirm the register is in Sale mode.
2. Click the product search field.
3. Type a useful part of the product name.
4. Review the matching products, price, and availability.
5. Select the correct product.
6. Enter quantity when needed and select Add.

Name search is helpful when no barcode is available. Confirm the exact variation, condition, and price before adding it.

How to Scan an IMEI or Serial Number

1. Place the cursor in the product search field.
2. Scan or enter the complete IMEI or serial number.
3. Let RepairNest POS find the exact available serialized unit at the current location.
4. Confirm the product description, serial, condition, and sale price.
5. Add it to the cart.

If the serial is unavailable, sold, reserved, or belongs elsewhere, follow the displayed inventory message. Do not substitute a different serial without confirming the physical device.

How to Scan a UPC or Barcode

1. Place the cursor in the product search field.
2. Scan the UPC or supported barcode.
3. Confirm the exact matching product.
4. Review quantity and price.
5. Select Add.

If scanning produces no result, type the number to rule out scanner focus or readability problems, then verify that the UPC is saved on the product.

How to Find a Product by SKU

1. Enter or scan the SKU in the product search field.
2. Use the exact SKU when available.
3. Confirm the returned product and current-location availability.
4. Add the correct item to the cart.

Partial SKU text may appear among broader results, so check the complete SKU before selecting. An exact identifier is safer than choosing by a similar product name.

How to Sell a Miscellaneous Item

Use a miscellaneous line when the item should not be selected from inventory.

1. Leave product search unused or clear it.
2. Type a clear description in the Item Name field.
3. Enter the quantity.
4. Enter the selling price.
5. Review the tax treatment.
6. Select Add.

Use a meaningful description so the receipt and reports explain what was sold. Do not use miscellaneous entry to bypass serialized inventory, stock tracking, or an established product record.

How to Review and Adjust the Cart

Before checkout, compare each cart line with the merchandise in front of you.

• Confirm item name, quantity, price, serial or IMEI, discount, and tax.
• Remove an incorrect line and add the correct one.
• Use the intended editing controls for quantity or price when your permissions allow.
• Confirm the subtotal, discounts, tax, surcharge when applicable, and amount due.

For serialized items, a quantity and serial mismatch must be corrected before payment.
